For most people, finding a family of bears on the front porch would be enough to send them running for the door. But for Patrick, a man living in Asheville, North Carolina, bear visits have become an unexpectedly familiar part of life.
For years, a mother bear and her cubs have been stopping by his home. Rather than causing panic, these encounters have become so routine that the bears appear remarkably comfortable around Patrick and his house.
One morning, Patrick captured an incredible visit on camera as the bear family made their way onto the porch. One cub confidently followed its mother up the steps, while another remained more cautious, staying just below the porch and quietly watching the others.
Then a third bear appeared.
This little cub was more hesitant at first, but staying close to its mother seemed to give it the confidence to continue. Meanwhile, the boldest cub had something else in mind.
