A determined bear cub had viewers holding their breath as it repeatedly slipped down a steep, snow-covered mountain while desperately trying to follow its mother.
The young bear was climbing with its mother across a rocky section of the mountain when the pair reached an extremely slippery slope. Both animals initially lost their footing, but the mother quickly recovered and managed to reach the ridge above.
Then she waited.
The tiny cub, however, was having a much harder time.
Again and again, it tried to climb toward its mother, only to slide backward across the powdery snow. Each attempt left long marks behind as the cub dug its claws into the surface, desperately trying to slow its descent.
At one point, the cub slipped a considerable distance and ended up on a large rocky patch below. From the ridge, its mother could be seen looking down and pacing back and forth as she waited for her youngster.
The little bear refused to give up.
Despite the steep slope and repeated setbacks, it continued climbing. At one point, the cub finally came within just a few feet of its mother.
But the dramatic moment appeared to take another turn. The mother seemed to become focused on a drone that was filming the scene, appearing uneasy as it hovered near her cub.
For viewers watching from afar, the repeated slips were almost painful to watch. Yet the cub kept trying.
Every time gravity sent it sliding back down, it simply started climbing again.
Sometimes, getting to the top isn’t about making it on the first attempt. It’s about refusing to stop trying.
