Real Madrid has officially successfully recruited 18-year-old young talent Lamini Fati from Leganes. The fee for this deal is 120,000 euros and he will play for Los Blancos’ youth team.
Fati has officially become a Real player
According to Marca, Leganes and Real Madrid have agreed to transfer 18-year-old player Lamini Fati. The two clubs’ announcements also confirmed this deal.
Previously, Marca announced last December that Fati would leave Leganes to play for the Spanish Royal team . The price for the 18-year-old midfielder is 120,000 euros. His contract has a term of 5 years.
Lamini Fati is a contract aimed at the future, not just to save the urgent situation of lacking a central defender due to injury in Real Madrid’s first team. He will temporarily play for Los Blancos’ youth team.
At the age of 18, Fati is 1m80 tall, is left-footed and is considered to have a lot of development potential. Before joining Real Madrid, Fati was a member of the Leganes B team. Previously, Leganes refused to sell the 18-year-old midfielder to Valencia because they wanted to maintain a good business relationship with Real Madrid.
In the 2023/24 season, Fati and the Leganes B team finished the División de Honor tournament in third place and reached the quarter-finals of the youth tournament of the Copa del Rey. In the current season, he has played more than 900 minutes, scoring 1 goal.
Laganes also issued a statement saying goodbye to Fati. They wrote: “The club confirms that Lamini Fati will play for Real Madrid from January 8, 2025. Wishing Lamini Fati the best of luck in this new period.”
