On the Indonesian island of Borneo, a heartbreaking separation between an orangutan mother and her tiny baby turned into a race against time.
Clarita was only a few months old when she was taken away from her mother, Clara, by a dominant male orangutan. Being separated from her mother at such a young age put the vulnerable infant at serious risk, as she was still dependent on her mother for protection and survival.
