Los Blancos, however, might’ve been a bit unlucky when it comes to the influence of VAR this season.
A new table has been released showing the points difference between Real Madrid and Barcelona without the influence of VAR in the 2024/25 La Liga season.
It shows that Real Madrid could have had 88 points from 37 games so far if not for VAR. Barca, on the other hand, would’ve only had 80 points.
The ‘without VAR’ table indicates that Real Madrid should have been the 2024/25 La Liga champions if the decisions didn’t work against their favor in certain matches this season.
Unfortunately for Los Blancos, VAR is here to stay in La Liga and all they can do is make a stronger push for the title next season.
