Former Real Madrid and Spain goalkeeper wrote:
“Honestly, I had never thought about talking about this. In 30 years as a footballer, I’ve told this to a few people… It’s part of my career and I truly think is the moment.
“Really, it’s about understanding the athlete I’ve become. I know some will say I’m wrong, but this decision only affects me.”
Shortly after posting it, the former goalkeeper deleted the message — but not before fans grabbed screenshots and began trying to decode its meaning.
Some fans speculated the message hinted at a long-held personal revelation, with theories ranging from a career regret to a potential coming-out story.
The latter gained traction quickly — especially given that Casillas tweeted “I hope you respect me: I’m gay” back in 2022, only to later claim his account had been hacked.
