When Jayson Tatum started yesterday’s Kings clash, it looked like he was up for a monster night. In less than three quarters, he had crossed the 20-point mark on a highly efficient shooting night. That’s when tragedy struck. After draining a deep step-back three, Tatum landed awkwardly on Domantas Sabonis’ foot and suffered a brutal ankle injury. In immense agony, JT left the game after hitting the resulting free throws and did not return. And it looks like he is going to be out for a while as the Celtics drop the latest update about his health.
As per their announcement, Tatum is doubtful to suit up tomorrow against the Suns. Reason? A left ankle sprain. Well, the six-time All-Star did not address the media after last night’s game. He was spotted walking out of the arena with a slight limp. Of course, the Cs are being extremely cautious and do not want to rush his return, which is why he is unlikely to play in Phoenix.

Obviously, his absence would be a huge blow for the team, as Tatum has been their primary scorer all year, averaging 27.1 points and nearly nine rebounds. Amid this setback, there is also a silver lining. It is possible that JT’s injury is not too serious as he was seen walking in regular sneakers, without any crutches or support boot, per The Boston Globe’s Adam Himmelsbach. He was also reportedly joking with his teammates in the locker room.
Moreover, Joe Mazzulla had a positive update about his injury during last night’s presser, “He seems to be doing okay. Just icing it right now… I literally just asked him how he’s doing, he said ‘Okay.’ I haven’t had a chance to talk to him yet. But he’ll do anything and everything to make sure he gets better.”

NBA star Jayson Tatum seemingly confirms birth of son with ‘Boo’d Up’ singer Ella Mai in new commercial
Jayson Tatum seemingly confirmed the birth of his son with singer Ella Mai in a new commercial.
In the new ad for Amica Insurance, the Boston Celtics star was asked, “What keeps you going?” during a press conference.

The commercial then showed Tatum, 27, day dreaming about cleaning up baby toys in what appeared to be his home. He then answered the door for his mom, Brandy Cole.
The NBA star and Cole then joked around as he shot a small basketball at a hoop and they chatted about how he learned how to shoot.
“Grandma really taught me how to shoot, anyway,” he quipped, to which his mom, replied, “She did. I was just thinking that.”

The mother-son duo’s chat was then interrupted by an infant crying over the baby monitor.
Tatum then awoke from his day dream and went back into the press conference. The commercial concluded by showing three pairs of sneakers — seemingly belonging to Tatum, his eldest son, Jayson “Deuce” Christopher Tatum Jr., and his newborn son — that were lined up from biggest to smallest.
Page Six has reached out to a rep for Tatum for comment but did not immediately hear back.
Last August, Page Six reported that Mai, 30, had welcomed her first baby with Tatum.
After the athlete and the Team USA men’s basketball team defeated France in the Paris Olympics finals, he and the British singer debuted their baby during a family photo shoot in honor of his gold medal win.

In a video shared online, Tatum posed with Mai, who was holding their newborn, his mom, his grandma and his eldest son, Deuce, whom he shares with his high school girlfriend, Toriah Lachell.
Though the couple has not said anything publicly about their son, Tatum has hinted at the newborn’s name during his NBA games.
According to photos online, the basketball star wrote the names “Deuce” and “Dylan” on his sneakers, seemingly to honor his two sons.
The “Shot Clock” songstress and Tatum have kept their romance out of the public eye.
n fact, fans didn’t even learn that Mai was pregnant and expecting her first child until she debuted her baby bump while celebrating Tatum’s NBA finals win in June 2024.
The couple was first romantically linked in 2019 when she was seen sitting courtside at one of his basketball games.
They made their first public appearance together at Michael Rubin’s annual Fourth of July White Party in the Hamptons in July 2022.
