Early one morning, we found her tied with an unbearably short rope, preventing her from lying down. The look in her eyes was something I’ll never forget, a mixture of fear and despair. I couldn’t hold back my tears as I watched her tremble, struggling to stand without relief.
Beside her was a garbage bag filled with remains left deliberately for her. She was painfully thin, her bones visible beneath her dull fur. It was clear she’d been abandoned and left to suffer in silence, reduced to little more than skin and bones.

We rushed her to the vet, hoping it wasn’t too late. She was almost silent as we carried her, exhausted from malnutrition and on the verge of collapse. Blood tests showed her red blood cell count was dangerously low and she was suffering from parasites and fungal infections. The reality of her condition was heartbreaking.
The diagnosis worsened. She had an early-stage transmissible venereal tumor (TVT), a type of cancer that originates in the skin. This news shocked me greatly, but I was determined to give her a fighting chance, no matter the challenges. Despite her illness, I saw strength in her, a will to survive that inspired us to begin treatment immediately.
With each passing day, she began to improve. Her weight began to increase, and she felt more relaxed and happy, enjoying the warmth of company for the first time in who knows how long. Her red blood cell counts improved, and the treatment was working wonders on her TVT. Her prognosis became more promising, filling us with hope.

As the weeks passed, she blossomed. She passed her final exams at the clinic, and we were told she was on the road to a full recovery. Knowing she would finally have the chance at a normal life was an indescribable joy. She was soon discharged, ready to enjoy life with a renewed spirit.
A month later, she was unrecognizable. Gone were the sad eyes and shaky legs; in their place was a happy, healthy, and beautiful dog. Her name is Lisa, and she now radiates positivity and energy. Her transformation is a testament to resilience and hope, and she brings warmth and love to everyone around her.
Lisa now lives her life to the fullest, free from pain and fear. She’s found her place in the world, and seeing her happiness fills me with gratitude for every second we fought for her.
