A baby elephant at the Pittsburgh Zoo has been charming visitors with her playful аttemрtѕ to Ьeаt the summer heat, splashing around in an inflatable kiddie pool.The three-week-old female calf, still awaiting a name, was gently encouraged by zoo staff to take a refreshing dip in the child-sized pool.
At first, she cautiously dips one foot in, curious yet ᴜпѕᴜгe of what to expect. But it’s not long before she steps in completely, clearly reveling in the cool water.
Once inside, the young elephant seems thrilled, especially as a keeper gently showers her with a hose.
She even drinks from the pool, skillfully using her trunk to scoop up water—a sure sign she’s quickly mastering its use.
The adorable bath time video ends as a keeper carefully dries her off with a towel. Tracy Gray, the zoo’s public relations manager, shared that the calf is flourishing.
“She’s only three weeks old and doing exceptionally well,” Gray said. “She’s mastering the use of her trunk and getting stronger each day. Her favorite toy right now is a big red ball she can’t get enough of!”
