Manchester City have reportedly given Rodri permission to travel to Barcelona today as the Spain star moves closer to completing his sensational switch to the Catalan giants.
The 30-year-old midfielder is expected to fly to Barcelona on Monday after the two clubs reached an agreement over a deal understood to be worth around £65.4million. Rodri is set to undergo his medical before completing the final formalities of the transfer.
Reports from Spain suggest Barcelona have arranged private travel for the midfielder, with the club keen to move quickly and have the remaining paperwork completed. His arrival is expected to mark the beginning of a new chapter after seven hugely successful years at Manchester City.
Rodri leaves the Etihad having established himself as one of the most influential midfielders of his generation. During his time at City, he made 298 appearances and helped the club win 12 major trophies, including four Premier League titles and the Champions League. He also claimed the 2024 Ballon d’Or.
