Luka Modric stuns football world by becoming minority co-owner of Swansea City in unexpected power move.

Luka Modric has purchased a stake in Swansea City, becoming a minority co-owner of the club.

Speaking after the deal of the concluded, Modric said: “I’m excited to be part of the journey.”

Meanwhile, Swansea have confirmed that Modric is now a co-owner of the club.

“Luka’s leadership, knowledge and passion for football will be key to the club’s ongoing development,” Swansea said in a statement.

In 2011, Swansea became the first Welsh club to play in the English Premier League. The club later tumbled down to the Championship, where they currently play.

Modric becomes the third Real Madrid player to own a club after Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior.
