CHICAGO — Cubs fans were left stunned and speechless Monday night after what was supposed to be a fresh new chapter for pitcher Michael Soroka turned into a potential nightmare.

In his long-awaited debut with the Chicago Cubs, Soroka exited the game after just two innings due to “right shoulder discomfort.” That’s right — his big moment was over before it even began. Some fans didn’t even have time to finish their hot dogs before he was off the mound!

Eyewitnesses at Wrigley say Soroka looked visibly uncomfortable as early as the first inning. “He was shaking his arm, something was definitely off,” one fan said. “Then boom — gone. Just like that.”
The 26-year-old right-hander was brought in to help bolster the Cubs’ rotation — but now, social media is spiraling into panic mode.
“Cursed? Injured again? WHY US?!” one user posted on X.
Another went full conspiracy: “Was this a rushed return? Someone needs to be held accountable!”
This isn’t Soroka’s first run-in with the injury bug. After battling multiple setbacks during his time with the Braves, many saw Chicago as a second chance — a redemption arc. But now, with this early exit, whispers of a career-threatening pattern are starting to resurface.
The Cubs have yet to release a detailed update, but fans aren’t waiting. “I feel sick. We can’t catch a break,” one lifelong supporter said. “We needed Soroka to be our guy.”
Whether this is a minor hiccup or the start of another long road to recovery remains to be seen. But one thing’s for sure — this wasn’t the debut anyone expected.
Stay tuned… this story might only just be beginning. 👀
