The scenes of a devastated pit bull breaking down in tears at a shelter upon realizing he’s been abandoned are heartbreaking and poignant.
People often don’t consider the harm they do to their pets by moving away from them after sharing so much time with them. They may say they have their reasons, but this is completely incomprehensible to a dog’s generous heart.
Blue King had to live through the terrible experience of being abandoned in a shelter

His family had to move to another city and decided they couldn’t take him with them .
That left him with a deep sadness in his heart. The worst part is that Blue was left in a shelter that has a very high rate of dogs being euthanized if they aren’t adopted.
So the longer Blue was there, the more likely he was to die.
But the volunteers at Saving Carson Shelter Dogs were fortunately aware of this harsh reality and made a video about Blue to promote his adoption.
The video strikes a chord with millions of people on social media:
They say that if we are emotionally unwell, it will be reflected in our body, and that seemed to have happened with Blue, who had been showing watery eyes since arriving at the shelter , possibly due to some kind of allergy…
But also because he didn’t understand why his family stopped loving him.

Fortunately, Jennifer McKay saw the video and decided to save Blue. She went to the shelter to meet him. “He seemed very sad and depressed ,” Jennifer says.

“He didn’t even recognize me, all the other dogs were making eye contact and wagging their tails, but he wouldn’t get up, he wouldn’t come to see me.”

Jennifer also felt that Blue was still looking for the owners who had left him at the shelter.

“You could tell every time someone walked by, it was like they were looking for them,” he said. “It’s like they knew they’d been left there . “

Jennifer wanted to take Blue home immediately, but the shelter had to do some temperament tests on him, so she visited him throughout this time, even though he still looked sad.
One day, she brought him a bone and a dog bed. He still wouldn’t let herself be petted, but he certainly liked the bed , and Jennifer had already gained some of his attention.

The next day when she went to visit him, Blue quickly approached her and stood at the edge of his cage.
“It came straight at me!” Jennifer says excitedly.

It took a whole week for Blue to be evaluated until Jennifer was finally able to take him home, and that’s when his attitude finally changed completely.

“He fooled me,” Jennifer says with a laugh. “I was expecting a calm, laid-back dog, but as soon as the kennel doors opened, he was very excited, and he loves riding in the car and sticking his head out the window .”

After the walk home, Blue got a nice bath and then fell asleep on the couch , looking like he had the perfect space in his new home.

“He seems to be making himself at home ,” Jennifer says.
One of the things he loves to do most is look at himself in the mirror for hours.

Blue still has things to learn, like some basic commands and how to walk on a leash, but he’s not the same sad dog from the shelter anymore.
“He just seems happy,” Jennifer said. “I came home from work yesterday, and he ran straight up to me. He’s a good dog. I’m so excited for him to be part of the family.”

Luckily, Blue now has a forever family.

In this video, you can see the moving scenes of her transition from a sad cage to her new life in freedom. It’s impossible to hold back the tears!
We sincerely hope Blue is as happy as she deserves in her new home. All puppies deserve a second chance.
