Fran Garcia and Valverde will be key: Real Madrid’s best lineup for Remontada against Arsenal
Carlo Ancelotti made the mistake of starting David Alaba at left-back in the first leg against Arsenal.
It was the Austrian who tackled Bukayo Saka, allowing Declan Rice to bend in the first of two free-kicks against Los Blancos.
Now, Ancelotti has no choice but to start Fran Garcia in that same position in the second leg.
We can expect Garcia to do a better job against Saka on the left. But his role in going forward will be even more important.
On the right side of Real Madrid’s defence, the best choice is Fede Valverde. It could be a big mistake if Carletto gambles and starts Lucas Vazquez. The veteran Spaniard lacks defensive awareness and solidity.
The midfield almost picks itself. With Camavinga out of contention, Ancelotti must start Tchouameni and the returning Ceballos.
From there, Real Madrid’s best XI to complete the comeback against Arsenal picks itself.
Real Madrid have completed lots of comebacks before. Doing it against Arsenal is more than possible.
