The tiny cubs, Clyopa and Plyusha, needed a source of milk, so a nursing dog was brought in from a nearby village with her own puppies. Instead of rejecting the unusual pair, the dog accepted them as part of her family.

Soon, feeding time became a competition.

The tiger cubs and the puppies would scramble for their place, each trying to reach their surrogate mother’s milk first. But the arrangement was never going to last forever—the tiger cubs were growing rapidly and would soon become far too large to compete with the puppies.

Still, the dog provided more than just nourishment.

She gave the young tigers the warmth and maternal care they needed during an important stage of their lives. The cubs even slept beside their new mother, appearing completely comfortable in her presence.

It was an unusual family, but for Clyopa and Plyusha, this gentle dog became exactly what they needed at the time.

And for a little while, feeding time meant something extraordinary: tiger cubs and puppies growing up side by side, sharing the same mother.
