Although it may seem like one of those phrases we often hear with indifference on television, the radio, and at awareness centers, abandoning an animal is a truly cruel act and a death sentence. For the same reason, if we see an animal in distress, abandoned for any reason, it is important to intervene or call someone to seek prompt, competent help.
The rescuers did everything they could to check on the rest of the litter and listened for sounds and calls of all kinds. Inside a concrete cave, they found one pup, but it was the last one left alive. On such a sweltering day, there was no way out and no drinking water for the rest of its siblings.
Once in the rescuer’s arms, the puppy had already received food and water. He had also fallen asleep during the car ride to the vet clinic. Finally, he was receiving care, affection, and people interested in his condition.
