“A Life Saved – And Many More to Protect: Help Us Equip Wildlife Rescuers in Zimbabwe

Our partner in Zimbabwe recently saved a baby elephant from a life-threatening snare.
Without our help, the next snared animal might not be so lucky.
A combination of dense bush, a protective mother standing guard over her injured calf, and outdated equipment made this rescue mission very challenging.
Over two days, the team attempted to sedate both animals, but they lacked the equipment to do so from a safe distance – and time was rapidly running out.
Luckily, a local partner was able to lend them the necessary tools, and they were able to save the calf’s life just in time.
This close call highlights how crucial it is to have the right equipment on hand when an emergency strikes – and with your help, we will give this to our partner, Kariba Animal Welfare Fund Trust (KAWFT), so they are always ready to save lives.
