Diego Leon is set to officially join Manchester United on July 1, according to reports.

Earlier this month, United completed their first summer signing by triggering Matheus Cunha’s £62.5 million release clause from Wolves. Now, the club is reportedly in negotiations with Brentford over a transfer for Bryan Mbeumo.
Although Mbeumo gave the go-ahead for a move to Old Trafford earlier in June, Brentford are holding out for a high fee, making the transfer uncertain for now.
In the meantime, a promising South American player is expected to join United shortly.
As reported by VSports Team (via Sport Witness), Diego Leon will travel to England on July 1 to link up with the Red Devils.
Back in the January transfer window, United had reportedly agreed on a £6 million deal with Cerro Porteño for the highly rated full-back, who also completed medical tests at that time.
Leon, a Paraguay U20 international, caught the eye of several European clubs thanks to his athleticism and ability to play multiple roles. He is known for his attacking runs and calmness when playing out from defense.
United struck the deal when manager Ruben Amorim was urgently seeking a wing-back, but since Leon was only 17, the transfer couldn’t be finalized until he turned 18 in April.
Now eligible, Leon is ready to begin his career in England on a contract believed to run until June 2030.
While it’s expected he’ll get game time during the pre-season, it remains to be seen if Amorim will consider him a dependable option for
the upcoming campaign.
