For a dog who loves his family with all his might, finding himself alone, sad, and abandoned in a shelter is truly difficult to bear.
He just can’t understand how overnight his humans are gone, and all he can wonder is what he did wrong to make them stop loving him.
Megan Bousley is a marketing specialist for the Hamilton Humane Society and the puppy’s foster parent . She says Ritter was very confused and depressed when he arrived at the shelter.
When they saw that the puppy was so sad, everyone at the shelter tried to cheer him up, they wanted the puppy to feel loved but all their attempts were unsuccessful .
Everyone knew that Ritter’s sadness was just a shell; deep down, he was a happy little dog eager to go out and play and be loved.
At the shelter, they decided to take photos and post them on Facebook with the hope that someone would fall in love with Ritter and want to adopt him.
As soon as she got her property, she began building her home, and of course, a puppy was the star member . She began checking the Humane Society’s Facebook page every day until she saw Ritter’s heartwarming photos.
“I immediately texted my sister and told her we had to go get him out of there,” Sophie said.
She asked her sister to accompany her to the shelter after work, as there was definitely a puppy to rescue.
The young woman immediately submitted Ritter’s adoption application and took the beautiful puppy home a few days later.
