“Where Are My Babies?”—Rescued Lioness’s Heartbreaking Cries for Her Cubs Left Behind at the Circus Echo Across the Wild

These heroes have dedicated their lives to rescuing circus animals.

They work for the animal rights group Animal Defenders International and their intention is to give poorly cared for animals a new life.

While on a rescue mission at a circus in Peru, they managed to save 3 lions.

Unfortunately, they had to leave behind one lion and two cubs.

When they first came across Kiara and her cubs , she had been separated from her babies.

They were too young to be away from their mom and been left to fend for themselves in a cage with an aggressive male lion.

Kiara was one of the rescued lions and was completely distraught when she realised her cubs were no longer with her.

“It was a terrible thing to see her being driven away in the van without her cubs,” said one of the rescuers.

The rescuers knew they had to do something.

They at least managed to convince the circus to move the cubs to their own cage, but they flatly refused to allow the cubs to join their mother.

Then one day they were told that the circus was in trouble so they rushed over to see what was going on.

Apparently, one of their other lions had attacked a member of the audience and people wanted him to be put down.

The rescuers managed to persuade the people that they should take the lion along with Kiara’s cubs.

When the cubs finally arrived. at the rescue center, Kiara realized something was going on and was on alert.

They set the cage with the cubs in beside her enclosure and opened the door.

Kiara was filled with joy at seeing her children again after so many lonely nights and immediately ran up to the cubs and began to wash and nuzzle them.
