The black Staffie-type pooch was tied to railings by a man who then jumped into a taxi and left it only with a takeaway tray filled with water. An hour later the loyal dog was still waiting patiently for its cruel owner to return while crying and whining.
A member of the public reported that the cute dog had been abandoned to staff at Eastbourne Railway Station, East Sussex on February 11. Dog wardens collected him later and took him to council-run kennels where wardens are now trying to trace his owner. If they are unable to track down the owner they hope to re-home the dog.
A spokesperson for Eastbourne Borough Council said: “We were called on Wednesday afternoon with a report of a dog tied up and left for more an hour at Eastbourne Station. “We collected the dog which is now safe and well in kennels. “We are trying to trace the pet’s owner who we urge to contact us.”
The story reminiscent of Kai, a Shar-Pei breed, which was abandoned at a Scottish train station with a pillow, a bowl and a toy last month.
