It includes a number of large pyramids, and dates back to the Early Dynastic Period, which was between 3100 BC and 2686 BC.
Archaeologists believe at least 17 Egyptian kings built pyramids at Saqqara.
And it remained an important complex for burials and ceremonies for over 3,000 years, even into Roman times.
