Manchester United’s incredible run in this season’s Europa League came to an end with a narrow 1-0 loss to Tottenham in the final. But while it was a tough night for the Red Devils, the result also added to an unlucky streak for their goalkeeper, Andre Onana.

This was actually the third final that Onana has lost in European competitions. Back in 2017, when he was with Ajax, he missed out on the Europa League trophy after they lost 2-0 to Manchester United.

Then, in the 2022/23 Champions League final, Manchester City beat his Inter Milan team 1-0 with a goal from Rodri, handing him another heartbreaking defeat.

And now, Tottenham has become the latest English side to deny him a major European title.
What’s kind of wild is that all these losses came against English clubs, and in some way, each victory was historic — Manchester United and Manchester City both won their first European titles, while Tottenham finally ended a 17-year wait for a trophy.
