More than twenty years of long course on almost all the seas of the world… it’s incredible how it can miss these limit situations… the life of a sailor, but fortunately it’s not always like that!

The timing of those waves in one made me nervous. If a big ship like this rides two waves, front and back, with nothing in the middle, it could be a disaster! The sheer weight of the ship could tear it in two! If there’s one job that you’re not comfortable doing, it’s being a Captain on one of these ships! No matter how big and badly we build them, they’re nothing more than bath toys against the ocean, and if it catches you slipping and puts a big enough wave next to the ship, it’s the size, weight and strength of it.
