A puppy shivering from the cold and scared in one of the areas most affected by the war was taken in by soldiers in Ukraine who decided to adopt him as another member of their team.

Recently, the case of a puppy that appeared near the area where Ukrainian soldiers are staying came to light on social media. The dog was alone and very cold.

Although since Ukraine has faced this tragic event, the world has seen how citizens fight to protect their pets, it was unlikely to see a similar scene among soldiers.

But the Ukrainian soldiers could not remain indifferent to the puppy, who, with his sad look, begged for help. Without hesitation, they adopted him from the shelter and named him Rambo.

At such a painful and emotional time, the presence of the puppy is comforting for those soldiers who risk their lives to fulfill the commitment they made to their country.

“He is our protector, isn’t he Rambo?” said one of the soldiers who adopted the dog in an interview.

Since the story spread, thousands of people have been interested in knowing the details and have expressed their admiration for the soldiers’ noble gesture.

Despite the sadness that overwhelms us for the pain of the population affected by this confrontation, gestures of solidarity like this are a balm for the heart.

The soldiers told how they met the puppy. “We felt sorry for him. It was very cold outside. We took him to our post and he stayed with us.”

The black puppy with a white stripe on his belly thanked the soldiers for their help by wagging his tail vigorously.

“He is our security, that is his job,” Rambo watches over the soldiers, acting as their protector.

More than 15 cats and dogs have taken shelter in the area. Volodymyr, another soldier, aged 49, said: “The animals are not to blame, the war is. They were abandoned. They had to fend for themselves. We have to feed them.”

The puppy became a symbol of luck for him and the other soldiers who accompanied him.
