He started as a central midfielder, his natural position, for the first time in several matches. Despite the jeers, Tchouameni played the full 120 minutes, contributing with an assist to Federico Valverde’s goal.
Tchouameni did not speak to the media after the match but posted a cryptic message on Instagram. The 24-year-old shared photos from the game with the caption: “What does not kill you…”
