At Real Madrid, the belief is that they dodged a bullet when they missed out on Leny Yoro last summer, according to Diario AS.

Last summer, Real Madrid were the first to identify and approach Yoro ahead of a potential move to Madrid from Lille.
However, Yoro opted to sign for Manchester United, who had offered him a higher salary in the contract.

Since joining Man United, Yoro has struggled with injuries, but even when fit, he hasn’t really moved the needle for the Manchester United defence.

The Red Devils are set to finish 16th or 17th in the Premier League and recently lost the Europa League final. Thus, Yoro, who is one of Man United’s top 10 most expensive signings, will not play in the Champions League next season.

Meanwhile, Madrid have moved on, not signing Yoro allowed them to unearth Raul Asencio from their Academy, and now they have signed Dean Huijsen, another high-quality Spanish centre-back from Bournemouth.
