Peru’s famous Nazca “alien mummies” are set to travel to the US so top scientists can fully investigate them.
Republican congressman Tim Burchett promised to assemble the “most important people in the world” to peer at the mysterious ‘alien’ figures. Some experts have claimed the figures contain “30% unknown” DNA, after they were discovered in Peru’s Nazca last year.
Burchett, known for his steady criticism of the US government’s UFO secrecy, said he would look to initiate the investigation at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in his home state. His assembled team of scientists have received a £390,000 grant from the Department of Justice, the Daily Mail reports.

Speaking to Mexican journalist and UFO researcher Jaime Maussan, Burchett pledged he would “gladly help” find “someone that would analyse [the alien mummies].”
The Republican lawmaker added: “I would also be interested in getting some people to analyse those bodies that are independent of the federal government. We will look for the most important people in the world right here in Tennessee.”
The University of Tennessee, Knoxville is home to a renowned centre for the scientific examination of human remains, dubbed the “Body Farm”.
Maussan has previously floated the idea the mummies could be alien-human “hybrids” and is in the process of suing Peru’s government for the right to ship the bodies to US labs.

The alien mummies have stumped the world’s media since they gained attention last year. They were purportedly found by local farmers in 2017, before forensic examiners got involved.
The strange remains were reported to have unusual features, including massive skulls and three-fingered hands, sparking speculation and debate about their origins and authenticity.
Throughout the investigations, none of the experts involved ever specified they believed the bodies were from a distant planet, or were extra-terrestrial in nature.
