The quiet and normal life of Nikolay Vasilievich Terletsky changed forever the morning in which he found a baby bear in a forest that bordered his home in Belarus. The creature was hungry and in very bad conditions, he had moved away from his mother and no matter how much Nikolay tried to locate her could not do it.
Nikolay lives in Borísov and owns a farm called “Kolyanich,” which he manages with his children; In addition to a cabin complex that rents tourists and fishermen.
The morning in which the bear appeared one of its workers informed him that he had found a tender teddy bear and Nikolay believed it was a joke.
The creature was very weak, it had days without eating so Nikolay decided to call the specialists. The man did not imagine that he would be the one who would have to be responsible for the little Osita .
«I called the fauna staff and the rangers I knew. I was sure they would find the mother in the area . However, they did not locate it »,
“They arrived with a cage to sacrifice it,” said Nikolay. For obvious reasons the man ruled out that possibility immediately and refused to deliver it.
The staff then suggested to leave her in the same place where she had found her, but he knew that then she would run the risk of starving .
At that moment Nikolay saw no more exit to adopt it, it would be he who would take care of her and feed her. Since the possession of these animals is illegal, of the Ministry of Fauna signed a document in which they allowed him to conserve the OSA with the condition that he built an adequate environment.
At that time, Nikolay was committed to carrying out the OSA that he baptized as Vasilisa.
After a veterinarian, it was determined that this baby was just 3 months old so I needed special care. But none of that was inconvenient for this man.
The life of this farmer changed that April in which the bear appeared on its property. For him she is like her baby and, since the bearing is growing, she hopes to build a more appropriate space in which she can live fully.
“My dream is to fence a piece of forest and build a space for it to stay here, in nature (…) until I see with my own eyes where I will live, I will not leave it,” he said.
Nikolay deserves everyone’s respect when facing regulations and betting on life. This bear could be sacrificed , but the good will and love of this man imposed themselves.
He has taken care of the bear since he was a puppy and now two years have passed in which friendship and loop became stronger.
For the Belarusian, the bear is more than an animal in your care, it is part of your family and that is why it has put everything on your part to ensure a quality life.
He dreams that he can develop in his own land, free of the hunters, but he does not know if the law allows him to do so.
