A kangaroo that was shot in the head with an arrow has cheated death and is recovering at Australia Zoo
After five days evading rescuers the little kangaroo was tranquilised by RSPCA rangers
‘They’ve been out with tranquiliser guns trying to get it.’
After it was captured on Tuesday afternoon, RSPCA spokesman Michael Beatty told Daily Mail Australia: ‘Our chief inspector hadn’t been able to dart him, he’s elusive.’
The enormous piece of metal was remover by staff at the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital
He was first spotted on Friday hopping around with the arrow in his head
The shocking images show the arrow speared him straight through the head and out the other side
The arrow pierced through the animal’s skull, narrowly missing its left eye
An RSPCA spokeswoman said they always like to involve the police so an offender can be prosecuted.
‘We would definitely try and get the police involved as we would like to get justice for the poor kangaroo,’ she said.
The native animal managed to evade rescuers until Tuesday afternoon when he was tranquilised
It is pictured here at the weekend laying on the ground with the arrow in its forehead
