Kylian Mbappe has achieved a remarkable milestone in his first season at Real Madrid, becoming only the second player in the club’s history to score in six different competitions in a single season.
The French superstar’s goal against Celta Vigo in the Copa del Rey marked his first in the Spanish Cup and completed a “sextet” of goals in competitions this season.
Mbappe has now scored in the UEFA Super Cup, La Liga, UEFA Champions League, Intercontinental Cup, Spanish Super Cup, and Copa del Rey.
Mbappe’s achievement is all the more impressive considering he has only just begun his Real Madrid career.
His confidence is growing with each game, and his back-to-back goals against Barcelona and Celta Vigo demonstrate his increasing form.
The only other player to have achieved this feat for Real Madrid is Karim Benzema, who scored in six competitions during the 2022/23 season.
Mbappe has the opportunity to surpass his compatriot’s record, as Real Madrid are set to compete in the Club World Cup next summer.
A goal in that tournament would make it seven competitions in which Mbappe has scored, a truly remarkable achievement.
