Canada’s Magellan Aerospace has secured a contract from Lockheed Martin to supply titanium components for the F-35 Lightning II fighter jet engine. In addition, titanium components will also be provided for the tie rods for the wing of the stealth aircraft. This multi-million dollar contract runs from 2023 to 2027.
Titanium components for the F-35 will be produced by Magellan for all three variants of the F-35 fighter jet.
Contract work will be performed at Magellan Aerospace’s facility at Kitchener in Ontario, Canada. This facility specializes in the production of titanium and stainless steel components.
In 2020, Magellan completed delivery of its 200th horizontal stabilizer set as part of the F-35 component supply chain.
