According to COPE, “It was Real Madrid that directly decided Luka Modric’s departure, as a club.”
The same report confirms that Xabi Alonso had no part in the decision. “Xabi Alonso had nothing to do with it,” the source said.
Real Madrid have chosen to move forward without offering him an extension. The 39-year-old made 590 appearances for Real Madrid and won 28 trophies with the Whites.
