Many people claim to be with their pets for life, but sometimes when things don’t go their way, it’s easy to see how they change their minds.
Originally, she had a family, but the carelessness and intolerance of these people made them abandon her one day. The reason is the cruelest you can imagine: the little dog had gone blind. A white mist covered her eyes.
The animal’s family no longer wanted to have any responsibility for her, so the best alternative they found was to throw her out onto the streets to her fate.
Fortunately, the neighbors knew the story, so they looked for someone who could help. They contacted Tavo Gutiérrez, an animal rights activist who is part of the Badabum team, and he did not hesitate to respond to the call.
Apparently, Neapolitan Mastiffs have very thick eyelids, which retract over the eye. This causes the eyelashes to constantly rub against the cornea, producing a callus that causes blindness.
To prevent this from happening, the eyes of these dogs must be cared for with drops and antibiotics, so Tavo took Matilda’s care very seriously. In just a few months, she was already a very different dog.
She had fully recovered her vision, was completely healthy and back to her normal build. This loving pet was ready to find a new family who would commit to her forever.
This kind of news brightens our day, because it shows us that there are still people willing to do something for the less fortunate, which is why we must share it.
