In the lush forests of Tamil Nadu, a tiny elephant calf, initially rejected by its mother, found itself alone and lost in the wilderness. But this tale of heartbreak soon turned into one of hope and warmth.
It all began with a distressing incident on May 30 when an ailing mother elephant was found lying on the ground, with her three-month-old calf next to her.
After this incident, the team discovered the elephant calf stranded in the forest and took him to the foothills of Marudamalai in an attempt to find his mother and reunite them.
The mother elephant had regained her health and rejoined her herd, but sadly, she consistently refused to accept her baby.
So, the officials had no choice but to bring the baby to the Theppakadu elephant camp.
Sahu explained that, according to experts, such events do occur in the wild for unexplainable reasons.
