Fans think Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James appears to have upset Drake by singing Kendrick Lamar’s tracks as the Canadian rapper hits out at the NBA legend in his latest song, Fighting Irish, but what did he say?

Drake has been feuding with Lamar for the majority of 2024 and the new year doesn’t show signs of calming waters, particular after Kendrick accused the 38-year-old of sleeping with underage girls after the pair got personal by targeting each other’s families.

So it’s a bitter fall out with serious accusations that has even seen Drake file two legal actions against his rival’s Not Like Us track by targeting Universal Music and accusing them of defamation for publishing the song.

Now with LeBron shouting mustard in Lakers’ practise on December 31, a word commonly used by Lamar in his songs, Drake seems keen to sever his ties with the four-time champion basketballer.

LeBron, 39, was caught on camera enjoying himself while Kendrick, 37, rapped his Drake diss track Not Like Us at Los Angeles' Kia Forum

“Remember we traded watches, I gave you the Arabic dial and you gave me the numbered edition,” Drake says in Fighting Irish, appearing to reference a watch owned by LeBron that does have Arabic dials. LeBron also played for the St. Vincent-St. Mary high school Fighting Irish.

Other parts of the track sees the musician talk about falling in love with “gimmicks”, perhaps calling LeBron overrated. He then added, “this s**t is personal to us” perhaps telling the Laker to back off endorsing Lamar.

“God forbid we ever got to tarnish your public image,” Drake then appeared to warn James, by threatening to expose him for something he has apparently done behind closed doors, reminding him of their “humble beginnings”.
