“I’ll Soar Once More” – A Bird, Grounded by a Severe Electric Shock, Finds Hope Through Life-Changing Wing Surgery

Parrots are known as smart and charming birds in Malanda, but they are an endangered species. Therefore, various organizations are working to protect parrots from extinction.

A parrot was brought to Perth Zoo in Perth, Australia, with its feathers burnt after being electrocuted by an electric wire.

The feathers were severely damaged, with the lower half of the feathers scorched and missing. For birds, the lack of wings is deadly. Therefore, doctors used all their wisdom and skill to perform a surgery to transplant the missing wings.

Doctors gathered to save a parrot whose life was in danger.

The transplant method involves taking the feathers of a dead parrot and attaching them with glue to an injured parrot that is sleeping under anesthesia. It sounds simple, but it’s a surgery that requires speed and precision, as if you don’t attach the pieces in the correct position and angle before the glue dries, your efforts will be in vain.

First, apply glue to the wings,

Apply it to the area where the feathers were growing before it dries.

Carefully, carefully, and above all accurately

And successfully attached

If there are no problems, the parrot will be returned to the wild at a rehabilitation center, where its physical strength will be restored and its flight ability will be checked. Then, during the period of replacement, the feathers fall off naturally, and the bird is able to fly with its own wings again.
