His family forgot him in his old house and he was reluctant to leave, but his life changed forever.

No matter how loyal a dog can be, it seems there are many people in this world who don’t seem to value them. This is demonstrated by the former family of a Labrador Retriever who was left behind in his old home.

His name is Larry, and this little boy suffered the ingratitude of his family, who decided to move and not take him with them. Finding himself alone, this 8-year-old friend refused to leave his home, so he stayed in the front yard as much as he could.

Unfortunately, this never happened; on the contrary, the dog gradually lost strength, as it only fed on the generosity of neighbors, workers, and good Samaritans who happened to be passing by.

“Every day I see him hungry and thirsty, waiting for any truck driver with the heart to give him something to eat or drink. It breaks my heart, and I wish I could help him, but my situation simply won’t allow me to bring him home. I’m going to post pictures of him every day just as he is, until someone with the heart and the means can give him a loving home,” the trucker wrote.

After a few weeks, the strategy paid off. Sasha Abelson, president of Love Leo Rescue, saw the case and decided to take action.

At the doctor’s office, he noticed that this animal had suffered more than they could have imagined. Larry’s stomach was swollen, even though he didn’t have constant access to food. His coat was in poor condition; he had lost patches of fur on his paws.

Faced with this diagnosis, Larry had to be admitted to a veterinary clinic for several months . After receiving the necessary care, this friend recovered, and the foundation was ready to launch an adoption campaign for him.

For one reason or another, the animal was returned. One family claimed he didn’t get along with dogs or children. Furthermore, Larry needed medication that cost around $180 a month— a sum not everyone could afford.

Regina Gifzpenc came across this animal’s story and was moved by it, so she decided to take action. The woman finalized the adoption in March, and now Larry is happily in what will surely be a forever home. The puppy has adapted very well to his new family, and everyone is delighted with him.
