The animals in the zoo have suffered from neglect for a long time, having to live in filthy, cramped cages.

On October 17th, Albanian Minister of Tourism and Environment, Blendi Klosi, ordered the rescue of animals living in poor and deprived conditions at the Safari Park in Fier, southwestern Albania, according to Top Channel.

Previously, visitors to this location were shocked to see severely malnourished images of lions. Their eyes were swollen and untreated.

The lions are malnourished and weak.

The zoo has only had 14 lion births in recent years. Among them, many have died, and some have been given away by the park owners as gifts.

Not only lions, but other animals also endure similarly deprived living conditions. They are confined in cages, cramped enclosures, not cleaned regularly, with waste accumulating around the pens.

Authorities in Albania have arrived at the zoo to address the dire living conditions of the animals.
