Heartwarming Rescue: Villagers Save Trapped Elephant from River After a Day-Long Ordeal in Incredible Moment of Compassion

An elephant who spent a day trapped in a flooded river in Thailand has been rescued by animal conservationists.

Video shows the ten-year-old elephant stranded in the swell caused by a storm that hit northern Thailand’s Phitsanulok province yesterday.

Villagers were asked to stay away from the water when the rescue operation was happening to try to make the elephant feel more comfortable.

The elephant is now being checked over by vets and park rangers before it will be released back into the wild.
