The moving moment when an orphan elephant tries to take the bottle without the help of his caregiver, has conquered all lovers of the animal kingdom.
There are many elephants who have rescued, some in more deplorable conditions than others, the vast majority victims of poaching . Bondeni arrived at the Animal Rescue Center in Kenya in 2019 when he was just a newborn. For a long time he was wandering only for a town that borders Chyulu’s hills in Nairobi .
In the headquarters of the Kaluku field of the center he received the first care, his days were full of challenges, he was difficult to walk through his wounds .
It was a matter of time, daily care and a lot of love to heal. Until then he was ‘s nursery transferred to Swt where they are still taking care of him .
Bondeni is currently two years old and his improvement is incredible , he has the support of a great team that strives to feed and care for all elephants.
To feed Bondeni, caregivers prepare formula milk every 3 hours , they usually help him hold the bottle, but recently Bondeni has shown that he is no longer so small and can be quite independent to feed alone .
Bondeni is growing by leaps and bounds, has proven to have a great attitude and is always affectionate with his caregivers . Through his networks , Sheldrick Wildlife Trust commented on the matter:
“It may be small, but Bondeni has a lot of personality and courage: look at him try to be a great bull and hold his bottle of milk alone. He is an orphan in the care of our nursery. ”
Thanks to the incredible work of this beneficial organization Bondeni and many other elephants have managed to survive . There are already more than 160 orphan elephants who, after receiving veterinary care and attention, are reintegrated into their natural habitat when they are adults.
Until then, the little and spoiled Bondeni will continue to flourish among other orphan elephants and the guardians whom he already considers family .
