Jensen Stuart, seven, of Doncaster, was moved to tears when his grandparents staged the surprise which saw them put a tiny black puppy into a box for Jensen to open. He opens a gift box and can’t believe his eyes when he realises what’s inside
As he enters the room his grandfather says: ‘Guess what? Your Nan and I have got you something.’
He then tells Jensen that the present will have to stay at his grandmother’s house but that he can play with it whenever he likes.
Jensen wanders over to a gift box on the other side of the room and opens it up while peering inside.
Once he realises the contents he lets out a shocked gasp and says: ‘A puppy!’.
His grandmother then leans over and says: ‘It’s for me and you’.
Jensen bounds over to his grandmother and wraps her up tightly in a hug of thanks.
He then turns back to the camera with tears streaming down his face while his mother holds the adorable puppy out for him to hold.

Jensen replies by simply saying: ‘Yes I’m so happy.’
Talk then turns to names and Jensen’s grandfather asks: ‘What’s his name?’
After quickly wiping a tear away, Jensen says: ‘Buddy the elf’.
His mother bursts into laughter and says: ‘I think it’s Buddy the dog!’.
While Jensen carries on clutching his new canine pal he introduces the dog to the rest of the family.

Jensen’s mother posted the emotional video to Facebook and said: ‘Jensen has had a horrible week, even in tears again today leaving school.
‘So coming home to this has made his week.
‘I couldn’t ask for a better Mum and Dad and Jensen certainly couldn’t ask for better Grandparents!
‘He’s absolutely buzzing and can’t wait to sleep at Nans tomorrow to play with his “Buddy”.’
