He was moments from being sacrificed, but one woman’s unwavering love gave him a second chance at life and hope.

We know that homeless dogs have a very complicated life, in many countries they do not have medical care, nor people who care about them. The average life of these animals is 4 to 6 years, if they do not die first run over, poisoned, etc.

Bruno is a dog that was taken off the streets of Campeche, Mexico. Fernanda Herrera was the one who found him wandering without any direction and with a terrible wound to the face. She doesn’t belong to any rescue organizations, but with her own resources and the help of her children has rescued some dogs who were in poor condition.

The first time he took Bruno to a vet, the clinic doctor told him that there was not much to do for him, they recommended that it would be better to sleep Bruno because his recovery would be very slow and would require a lot of money, in addition to the possibility that he might not survive the treatment.

But Fernanda did not give up and continued to seek help with other veterinary doctors, until she finally found out with doctor Esteban Eduardo Richaud, who gladly agreed to help Bruno.

Bruno had to undergo certain studies where they discovered he had 3 tumors, 2 on his face and one on his genitals.

He now faces treatment of 6 to 8 years, but what he needs most at the moment is love and support, something he never had before when he was a street.

He is a very quiet dog and immediately joined the help they give him, every day he shows himself with more energy, he wants to live, he wants to have a second chance.

The doctor has not yet been able to determine whether the tumors are going to be blind in one eye, chemotherapy has not yet completely eliminated the tumor and require more treatment time.

Fernanda has created a campaign at Go Fund Me to receive donations so that she can pay for the medications, chemotherapy, blood chemicals, ultrasounds and plaques that Bruno requires. There’s a great way to go but for the moment, she’s alone in this, and her resources aren’t enough to get Bruno forward.

Bruno has been in treatment for a month, sometimes Fernanda has had to go out and ask for money from her neighbors and friends to pay the bills to the veterinarian, but if Bruno shows so much energy and desires to live, she will not leave him homeless.

He has also posted Bruno’s case in some Facebook groups, for people to support him, as any donation will be welcomed and grateful for Bruno.

There are cruel people who are able to abandon dogs to their fate, but it is a relief to have people who save them and give them a new chance of life, to belong to a family that takes care of them and really loves them.
