Sage is a 12-year-old elderly dog. She has lost her vision, so she cannot go out alone; But one day by mistake he was left outside the house , his family thought he was in the yard and an hour later they realized he was not there.

Dan Estrada is a friend and neighbor of Sage’s family, who had gone out with his two dogs Barnabas and Köelsch, and his friend Vincent, for a day of gentle hiking in the woods.
When Dan saw something that he initially thought was a bag in a ditch next to a stream, he got upset, thinking there were people polluting the place, but as he got a little closer his heart skipped a beat.
Dan’s dogs approached and Sage was able to recognize them, you could see that he was happy that they were there. They immediately made contact with the Cole family, as they helped her out of the woods. At first she took a few steps but she was so weak and tired that she couldn’t make much progress.
Dan took her on his shoulders and carried her to the car. “The family was so happy to see her that they couldn’t hold back their tears, the moment was very emotional,” he said.
“She is doing great now thanks to our great friend Dan,” Bet said.
They had offered a reward of $1,000 to whoever found Sage but Dan did not want to accept it, instead asking that this money be donated to an animal shelter. We believe that this man is a hero, although his encounter was unexpected, his big heart ended up helping many people around him.
