A woman was walking through a park in New York City, but she never imagined what she was about to find. Something in the trash caught her eye, and upon examining it, she realized there was a dog inside a garbage bag, nearly dying.

The dog’s name was St. Vincent and he was about 10 or 12 years old. Not only was he in a bag, but his muzzle was also tied up. He was covered in blood , his skin was badly damaged, and his health was deplorable. He was immediately taken to Veterinary Emergency & Referral Group North in Gowanus, an animal hospital in Brooklyn.

Against all odds, St. Vincent accepted the treatment very well, and his health gradually improved. Furthermore, he proved to be very noble and extremely kind throughout his recovery. He never once growled at any member of the medical team or volunteer—it was unbelievable that someone would do that to him.

“Ever since he was able to lift his head, all he’s expressed is kindness,” said Dr. Levitzke. Finally, and as expected, when he was ready, someone decided to adopt him and give him the love he deserves for the rest of his life.

Although St. Vincent fortunately recovered and was rescued in time, let’s not forget that abandoning animals is a crime. The way they treated him is truly grave . They took away all chances of him surviving on his own, leaving him there to die without anyone hearing or seeing him, and that deserves to be punished.
