A Bola reports that Sporting Lisbon forward Viktor Gyokeres has decided to leave the club this summer, with his transfer fee set between €65m and €75m. A previous agreement with Sporting CP saw his release clause of €100m apply only in January, but his fee has now been reduced for the summer.
Gyokeres, who has the power to choose his next club as long as the offer meets the minimum requirement, is attracting interest from several top clubs across Europe, including Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Barcelona has shown interest, particularly due to uncertainty over Robert Lewandowski’s future, and Sporting director Deco has maintained strong ties with the Portuguese club. However, Barcelona’s priority has shifted, and they are unlikely to push for the striker unless circumstances change.
Real Madrid, too, could be in the mix, although Gyokeres seems more inclined to return to the Premier League, where he is expected to command a higher salary and potentially take on a leading role.
