“She was so weak she couldn’t lift her head …”
Earlier this spring, Philadelphia animal control officers responded to an eviction case and found someone small abandoned at the scene.

“When Lexi arrived at our shelter, she was barely clinging to life,” the PSPCA wrote in a Facebook post. “She was so weak she couldn’t lift her head, let alone stand.”

“This brave girl has been through a lot, and she can be a little shy at first,” the rescue wrote. “But with a little time, she becomes the most fun, loving and loyal little pup. Once she knows she can trust you, she gives her entire heart. And it’s a heart that is definitely worth it.”

Adoption applications began pouring in. Families jumped at the chance to welcome Lexi into their homes. Less than a week after she went up for adoption, the PSPCA provided another update — Lexi found her perfect match.
