For nine long years, he visited her—chained, forgotten, hopeless—until the day he freed her, and she finally felt love’s touch.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a country in the world where you don’t see hundreds of pets wandering the streets of their cities, instead of being treated as what they truly are: a member of the family who deserves as much respect, consideration, and care as any other.

For many people, stray dogs and cats go unnoticed, but not for a volunteer. For animal lovers, they are beings who deserve the chance at a better life than mere survival, and they are willing to do everything possible to save them.

And poor Edith knew nothing but the chains that kept her useless, sad and depressed, during her 9 years of life , and only received daily visits from this activist who did not cease in her efforts to rescue the animal.

As time passed, Jessica began to develop a strong sense of affection for the dog . She spoiled her by bringing her favorite treats and toys, and even built her a little house where she could stay out of the cold and rain.

“Since she was a puppy, Edith was kept chained outdoors in isolation, except for visits from PETA field workers who brought her toys, treats, and belly rubs,” PETA wrote in a post on its social media account.

After establishing such a close relationship with the dog over so many years, PETA spokespersons unfortunately had the sad duty to report Edith’s disappearance.

The unworthy people who kept her in that state decided to move her to another location without telling anyone, thus losing the chance to track the unfortunate little animal. None of the activists knew where the furry creature might be , so all they could do was hope for a miracle.
