Florentino Perez names surprise ‘signing of the century’ – and it’s not Cristiano Ronaldo

In a shocking revelation, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has named Toni Kroos as the club’s ‘transfer of the century’, snubbing the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Zinedine Zidane, and Karim Benzema.

According to Kroos’ agent, Volker Struth, Perez made the remarks during a lunch meeting in 2020, just before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Struth recalled Perez’s praise for Kroos, citing his exceptional value for money.
Perez’s admiration for Kroos is hardly surprising, given the midfielder’s impressive trophy haul during his time at Real Madrid.

Kroos helped the club win 21 trophies, including four La Liga titles and five Champions League crowns.
Kroos, who announced his retirement from club football after the 2023-2024 season, played his final game for Real Madrid in the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund at Wembley.
