The youngster will not forget this.
Abdukodir Khusanov’s debut for Manchester City couldn’t have gone much worse, as the 20-year-old Uzbek defender experienced a nightmare start in today’s clash with Chelsea.
Thrown straight into Pep Guardiola’s starting XI after his £34 million move from RC Lens, Khusanov’s debut began with a blunder in the third minute.
A botched header gifted the ball to Nicolas Jackson, who then assisted Noni Madueke for Chelsea’s opener.
Things quickly spiraled further for Khusanov. Moments later, another misplaced pass allowed Chelsea to break again, with the defender’s foul earning him a yellow card.
Commentating on the match, Gary Neville sympathized with Khusanov, calling it “a nightmare” and stating, “These three minutes will be as difficult as he has faced in his life.”
